A super rare set of 3 antique 1920's WAVO finger wave clips made of stainless
steel metal. They measure 3" long and would be prefect for creating Marcel Wave
hair styles. These are very good quality hair rollers. They show minimal to no
signs of wear after 100 years and are quite strong & sturdy. I've only ever
seen one other set of these fabulous old wave setters, so these are a wonderful
find! They can be used as barrettes too, as is mentioned on the lovely original
packaging example shown in the photos.
I love these wonderful old hair hair styling accessories! They were
traditionally known as "wave setters" in the Victorian and Art Deco Flapper
eras, when they had a more flattened shape suitable to creating quintessential
"Finger Wave" and "Marcel Wave" hair styles. They would be used on wet or damp
hair, worn until the hair dried (often overnight), in order to create
fashionable waves without damaging heat. They were known by various names such
as "finger wavers", "hair wavers", "wave setters", and "water wavers".
